There are many foods that are not good for dogs, but there are a select few which need to be avoided at all costs. The following foods can cause severe medical issues and even death in your best friend:
Not just an old wives tale, chocolate is a definite NO-NO for all dogs. Not only is the caffeine dangerous but the cocoa can be toxic which could lead to panting, vomiting, diarrhoea as well as damage their heart and nervous system.
Tea and coffee are like poison to dogs. Caffeine can cause vomiting and diarrhoea and be toxic to the heart and nervous systems.
Dogs cannot handle their drink. Alcohol in dogs can cause intoxication which can lead to seizures, low blood sugar, even a coma or death.
Tobacco is hugely toxic to dogs, keep your cigarettes out of paws reach. The nicotine can cause damage to a dog’s digestive and nervous system, increase their heart rate, cause them to pass out or even death can occur.
Definitely one to avoid. Grapes of any kind (including sultanas, raisins and currants) can be toxic to dogs, potentially causing kidney failure.
Onions and garlic whether cooked raw or in powder are very toxic to dogs. One of the worst things you could give your dog. They can cause all kinds of nasty stuff like vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pains, nausea and can cause the red blood cells to rupture as well as anaemia in dogs.

The toxin causing macadamia nuts to be so toxic is still not clear but what we do know is that these nuts can cause weakness, panting, swollen limbs, and tremors plus they could cause damage to your dog’s digestive, nervous, and muscle systems
Just like yeast makes bread rise it will do the same in your dog’s belly. Best case scenario is lots of gas and farting as well as discomfort. Worst case can be a rupture in the stomach and intestines.
If your dog ingests any of the above foods contact your veterinarian immediately for advice on how to treat your dog.
